In the 1960's and 1970's about 100 movies hit the screen every year, plus much more were produced for television. Many of these had either budgets slim to none or were too daring for wider audiences. Therefore some of the most interesting soundtrack recordings are exlusively available on 7"s that often were financed privately, pressed in small numbers just for promoting the movie or with local distribution only.
